Glossary of Terms (Source: Nightlighter) — **Note: not an exhaustive list

  1. Ahéolahn River 

    The main thruway carrying goods in and out of the Jun’gahzah Tribal Keep. Flows north to south. Typically a deep cerulean color. 

  2. Alphænix 

    A mid-to-high level flaxer. Skilled in combat. Helmet features a black sphere, instead of the red X typical of flaxerz. Given supervision over a flaxer garrison. Reports to D-4 Ghoulags. 

  3. Amour d’Lunae 

    The famed weapon of Qomb’moq, Luna Moone. Can only be wielded by select Qomb’moq. Chrome plated—galvanized. Reminiscent and/or derivative(?) of the frequencer. Mændlink possible via synchronization port. 

  4. Arachnykhan 

    A Tunnels-dwelling arachnid. Aggressive nature. Can grow upwards of fifteen feet in diameter. Its silk can be synthesized for myriad uses. 

  5. Asheīnwood 

    A product of the Early Cycles. Rarely seen during Elder Cycles. Priced high. Sought after highly. Durable. When diluted, makes for fine oils and perfumes. 

  6. Ashwood 

    A product of the Gnâvang Gaila (the offspring of its Early Cycle parent: Darkwood). Comprised of petrified ash and dust, Ashwood presents a sturdy, durable, and relatively inexpensive surface. Its uses are numerous, it is a versatile product.  

  7. Bähft 

    L’Lohgian slang. Translates roughly to “shit” or “garbage.” 

  8. Blügae Bag 

    An accessorizing article used to store and ingest whiteblue frequencies. Siphoning tube attachment is optional. 

  9. Bohr-kite 

    Large, ectoplasmic creatures known to roam the Tunnels. Though rarely seen or documented, Bohr-kites consume their prey still-living—often three times the size of their body-mass. 

  10. Brökhohs 

    Unique to the Sagekind, the Brökhohs (Blessing) produce and supply the whiteblue frequencies used to power L’Lohgus. Though produced of their residual stores, the Brökhohs’ whiteblue can be synthesized for myriad purposes. **The Brökhohs are the only known holdovers (“survivors”) from the Ohld World.  

  11. Burn Stick 

    A device used exclusively by Ehstaylox Administrators. Typically gifted to chosen Administrators by an Imperator, a burn stick has myriad uses. It is cylindrical in shape and fits snugly in the palm of a hand. **Note: not to be used as a weapon.  

  12. Caverat 

    A Tunnels-dwelling rodent. Nocturnal. Nearly quintuple the size of the average cavemouse. 

  13. Cepholophate 

    A Tunnels-dwelling creature. More common in the Elder Cycles after the devolution of the Primaveidhen Passageway. Can be used as nourishment, though not recommended as a dietary staple. 

  14. Chahcahlat 

    Derivative of the rumored Ohld World substance. Bitter in taste, brown in color. Used primarily as a garnish to simple meals and gatherings.  

  15. Cohmbat 

    A style of fighting developed in the early Mystonaks of the Ohld world. Adopted and made famous by Center Ehstaylox Control. Combines hand-to-hand techniques derivative of Ohld World techniques such as “Jiu-Jitsu” and “Taekwondo.” 

  16. Council of Abáhs  

    Of Tribal origins, the Council of Abáhs oversaw the founding and subsequent dissolution of the Ancient Alliance. Abáhs, or “Father” implies the Council’s developmental and parental influence during the early tribal formations. 

  17. D-4 Ghoulag 

    The highest class of soldier (flaxer) within the ranks of Center Ehstaylox Control. D-4 Ghoulags are fierce in combat, notable in stamina, and unparalleled in games of the mind. 

  18. Darkwood 

    A wood commonly used during the Early Cycles. Grain is dense, and especially dark (black). Used practically when sunshade is desired. 

  19. Dayowl 

    Winged creatures native to the more rural regions of L’Lohgus. Counterpart to the nightowl. As their name suggests, dayowls navigate during daylight hours only (though experts dispute it may be little more than semantical interpretation).  

  20. Designees’ Atonement 

    A prayer of lament to the Kore. Recited during Instruction. Originally composed by Totality Imperator Gaimon Flax. 

  21. Detektor Phones 

    Sonic-aural receptacles used for musik listening. Wearer applies chinstraps to accommodate lower-pitched notes. Can be retrofitted for syphoning translucence. 

  22. Dhorgan 

    A behemoth musikal instrument reminiscent of the Ohld World “organ.” Eight tiered keyboards; four rows of tonal foot pedals. Original models are constructed of Ashēinwood. Powered by whiteblue generators. Only a few are known to survive the turnover to the Elder Cycles.  

  23. Dīhl 

    A phallic-shaped “toy” used to practice Choreography. Constructed of silicone, glass, wood, and—most commonly—clay. A favorite of practicing Designees and nightlighters alike. 

  24. Dimensitarium 

    A facility unique to the Tribesmen. Only a few are known to still exist today. Often buried deep in Tribal infrastructure, dimensitariums feature model-sized dimensions known to exist in, through, and beyond the known dimensions of the universe. 

  25. Dürvim Designation Camps 

    Also known as ‘Company Designation Camps.’ Where Selected nightlighters (Designees) are held captive, trained, and Instructed. Harsh living conditions. A product of Center Ehstaylox Control. 

  26. Emæn Mööteao 

    The lidless, all-seeing eye of Center Ehstaylox Control. Housed within its Golden Pyramid, the Emæn Mööteao serves as a beacon for security to those who do not understand its power. The official brand of Ehstaylox. 

  27. Filmcast 

    Like the “laser-disks” of the Ohld World, filmcasts store data digitally, e.g., moving pictures, Stahlblüg files, etc. Requires a vidscreen onto which to be projected. 

  28. Foamwhale 

    A behemoth, aquatic mammalian creature. Rarely seen since the fall of the Ohld World. With four dorsal fins, the foamwhale is an efficient swimmer and apex predator of the seas.   

  29. Fogglass 

    A L’Lohgian material blown from high-pressure melted ore. “Fog” parameter can be modified to preference. Common in both residential and commercial real estate. 

  30. Frequencer 

    The preferred weapon of the L’Lohgus. Powered by whiteblue frekores.  

  31. Frequence Rifle 

    A longer, heavier rendition of the frequencer. Can be formatted for long-range firing and Cohmbat abilities. 

  32. Frequency Port 

    Attached to all buildings in L’Lohgus. Houses and filters whiteblue as it travels to and from the Center Ehstaylox Control skystructure. 

  33. Frequency-Drink 

    The most common of alcoholic beverages in L’Lohgus. Comprised mostly of drinkable whiteblue synthesized for consumption. Filtered carbon di-oxide is added for fizzy sensation. Can lead to inubrae. 

  34. Fuhregid Ivory 

    A white-grained wood. Strong. Commonplace in the Primaveidhen Passageway. Favored for its smooth, rigid, and slick texture. 

  35. Fündz 

    L’Lohgian currency. Not observed by all Sevenths. Favored highly by Ehstaylox Imperators. 

  36. Ghadahfly 

    A common living-unit pest about the size of a thumbnail. Lays eggs wherever it lands; known to spawn thousands of offspring in a single Cycle.  

  37. Heatstorm 

    A weather event of substantial proportions. Heat, static, and sleet combine to splice molecules in midair producing heat of immeasurable degrees. Commonly occurs during the Primaveidhen. 

  38. Jasmineh  

    An approach to cuisine unique to the Ruhral Seventh. Involves double washing, steaming, and broiled preparation. Known for its crunchy, yet smooth finish. 

  39. Johrphak Noodles 

    Breaded noodles that incorporate the Jasmineh approach. A dish served commonly at dinner gatherings during the Early Cycles.  

  40. Jumpot 

    A spouted storage container used often to house vanity products, e.g., makeup, powder, perfumes, lotions, creams, etc.  

  41. Jun’gahzah Tribal Code 

    A code of ethics unique to the ‘Gahzah Famíl. To be memorized and upheld by all members of the Famíl. 

  42. Jun’gahzah Tribal Keep 

    Home to the Jun’gahzah Tribe. Maintained and meticulously managed by the Nine. Where intuition and mændlink baptisms occur. A sacred and revered place. 

  43. Kahltiger 

    An apex predator of L’Lohgus. Only seen (documented) in the Ruhral Seventh. Nine-feet long; four-feet tall. Its three curled incisors can fit in a grown man’s palm.   

  44. Kahlahk Bread 

    A bread sourced from Early Cycle grain. Soft and doughy to the touch. A frequent L’Lohgian hors d’ oeuvre, served at both low- and high-status events. 

  45. Kahpahkah 

    Headwear worn most frequently by Jun’gahzahn troupers (similar in style to an Ohld World beret). Can be fashioned to display rank. 

  46. Kihnd Mortuary 

    A mausoleum of sorts, situated deep beneath the Company Designation Camps. Rumor tells of experiments—experiments on the dead, performed to elicit nuanced data related to strangetuition growth. Bodies are said to be sourced from those unfit to survive the Gnâvang Gaila.     

  47. Kyūspuh  

    A female eunuch. Generally viewed as something undesirable. Often used as derogatory slang. 

  48. Load-bearing speeder 

    As its name suggests the load-bearing speeder (LBS) is designed to transport large groups of people and freight. Can also be fitted with weaponry for use in Cohmbat. 

  49. Löhft 

    L’Lohgian slang. Translates roughly to “dullard” or “idiot.” 

  50. Lumimeter 

    An Ehstaylox device used as a navigational tool when visibility is slim or gone. Similar to Ohld World sonar.  

  51. Lumipiston 

    A light source ubiquitous in L’Lohgus. Can be fashioned to fit multiple housings and brightness (luminosity) settings. Can also be fitted with temperature parameters. 

  52. Lumitor 

    A L’Lohgian device used primarily by Tribesmen to shield either eyes or ears from unwanted noise. 

  53. Mændlink 

    A non-verbal telepathic medium for communication. A strategic tool for use in both combat, and informal colloquial environments. Especially popular amongst Tribesmen.  

  54. Mahlrose Bush 

    Blooms late in the Early Cycles. Its thorns are many—most of which are located on its stem and flared petals—and extremely durable. (Rumored to have once been the basis for Tribal weapon construction.) 

  55. Medahtech 

    A person skilled in (physical) body-healing affairs. Trained during the Early Cycles, medatechs, for example, are able to perform both planned and impromptu surgeries on the human body. 

  56. Mïfbah 

    L’Lohgian slang. Translates roughly to “bitch” or “hag.” 

  57. Nightowl 

    The dayowl’s nocturnal compliment. Commonly spotted in the Sagekind Coven 

  58. Nôktun 

    A mythical creature. Revered by the Jun’gahzahns. Little is known about its anatomy (other than it is winged). 

  59. Oreblack 

    A cheaper, weaker synthesis of steelblack. Comprable to Ohld World “plastic.” 

  60. Péctuna 

    A bitter-tasting fruit with dark green, thickly marbled skin. Its flesh is true crimson. Stains flesh brown. Difficult to clean.  

  61. Pinewood 

    A soft-grained wood. Used commonly as a building material during the Early Cycles. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye and nose.  

  62. Q-Qloak 

    “Quasi” or “Quiet” cloak. Conceals its user in a cloak of invisibility. Used when secrecy is requisite. Powered by whiteblue frekores. Requires regular maintenance to ensure peak performance. 

  63. Refrahktor 

    A quasidimensional relic similar to that of a book from the Ohld World, albeit constructed of a type of steel and powered by frequencies. (Derivative unknown, as of this publishing.) 

  64. Rhuptor 

    The hardest of the Gnâvang Gaila rains. An extreme weather event common during the turnover to the Elder Cycles. 

  65. Safehouse Doorman 

    The “voice” of all Tribal Safehouses. The Doorman acts as the first line of defense should any unlabeled or unwelcome guest attempt to enter or infiltrate.  

  66. Sagekind Impact 

    An intuititve ability unique to the Sagekind. Can cause extensive damage to the immediate environment. Known to drain the offending sagekin of her whiteblue stores. 

  67. Sagekind Wink 

    A batting of the eye unique to the Sagekind. Often employed to indicate belief in (what was once) a prior subject of disbelief. A profound gesture. 

  68. Sickmænd 

    The worst of the potential “mændlink gone wrong” possibilities. Whiteblue stagnates in the forming intuition increasing tenfold its devolution to translucence. Translucence usurps the host of its intuitive and motor control. 

  69. Slow-death 

    The process of unpersoning. Begins with exposure to translucence. Prolonged exposure elicits irreversible slow-death trajectory. Can also occur via strangetuition manipulation. 

  70. Stahlblüg 

    L’Lohgus’s online social-networking platform. Censored heavily by Ehstaylox. 

  71. Strangetuition 

    “Strange Intuition” An entity of formidable influence and power, a strangetuition latches itself to the intuition of escaped designee nightlighters. Its voices—Beth-Mallon, Razpur, and Synkyl—are many and its manipulation is strong. Remedied only by Jun’gahzahn Tribal Leaders or Ehstaylox Imperators. A product of Ehstaylox.  

  72. The Nine 

    The bureaucratic, governing body of Tribesmen Tribal Keeps. Act and behave independently of the Tribal Leader. Very old. Grounded in strict adherence to tradition.  

  73. Timepiece  

    A L’Lohgian timekeeping device. Displays: time (hours), day (relative to Cycle), türm, countdown to Cycle Turnover. 

  74. Translucence Bog 

    A repository of pooled translucence commonly found in Designation Camps during the Elder Cycles. Known to induce hallucinogenic episodes if submerged beneath its surface. Surface is translucent. 

  75. Tskahzah Pyramid 

    The famed fighting formation of the Jun’gahzah Warrior-V. Two troupers in a triangular formation placed equidistant from the other, constantly rotating in relation, covering and monitoring blind-spots. A frontrunner or Krömnahl head the formation at its vanguard.  

  76. Tuning Vine 

    A L’Lohgian phenomenon, tuning vines grow (and are often farmed) in the outer regions of the Ruhral Seventh. Tubular in shape, the stems of the plant become hollow upon advanced stages of photosynthesis. When matured, the vines produce a pleasant aural tone—especially when struck. 

  77. Xeptopawd 

    Similar in disposition to Ohld World cows, xeptopawds roam often in herds or “pawds.” When trained properly, xeptopawds make for great load-bearing creatures, assisting in transport of both farmed and manufactured goods. Known to wander open pastures in the Ruhral Seventh of L’Lohgus. Loyal. 

  78. Xöphak  

    A L’Lohgian swear word. Commonly translated to “loser” or “degenerate.” 

  79. Zenbahr Mountains 

    A mountain range far to the south of the Metropolitan Seventh. Only traversable under preferred weather patterns. Mostly devoid of vegetation. Largely uninhabitable.
